Adopt a Whale Cookie
Sale!
Photos and story by Kari Whiting
Mrs. Monroe's second graders are studying
whales. They are selling cookies to raise money to adopt a real whale.
They also did projects that displayed their learning. Some of the whales
that they studied include the humpback whale, the gray whale and the narwhal.
Thanks to all those who helped support this worthy project. Not only did
the kids raise enough money to adopt a whale but also a manatee! Helping
to save ocean life is an important part of environmental conservation.
Happy
Easter!

Miss Watson's kindergartners had an up
close look at chicks! They are also hatching some duck eggs. Pictured is
Adam Schneider who learned that when the chicks peck you it doesn't hurt.

They developed and planned out a self-sufficient city in space complete
with a Mission Control Center, solar panels, oxygen generating room, kitchen,
game room, bedroom and bathroom.

There were poems, autobiographies, state reports, limericks, and projects
