Schendel Qualifies for Million Dollar Round Table

Brian P. Schendel, of Tioga Center, district representative with Aid Association for Lutherans, has qualified for the Million Dollar Round Table, an insurance accomplishment attained by only the top 6% of all life insurance producers worldwide. Mr. Schendel serves A.A.L. members in the Ithaca, Elmira, and Binghamton area of New York as well as the Athens, Sayre, and Towanda areas of Pennsylvania.


Can & Bottle Drive

On Saturday, February 12, the 8th Graders of Our Lady of Sorrows and Seton Catholic Middle School will hold a Bottle & Can Drive. Drop off time is from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. Drop off sites are the OLS-Seton school parking lot at 1112 Broad Street in Endicott, and the BSB on Hooper Road in Endwell. The students greatly appreciate your donations.


Celtic and Traditional Tunes

On Saturday, February 12, Awakenings Coffeehouse presents Brian Hyland playing the concertina, flute, and accordion, and Chris Woodard on guitar. Selections will include a collection of Celtic and traditional tunes fused with a twist of Jazz and classical stylings. Doors open at 6:30 pm, music plays at 7:30 and 8:30 pm. There is open seating. Donations are accepted. Awakenings Coffeehouse is at 208 Front Street in Owego.

55 Alive Defensive Driving Course

AARP 55 Alive Defensive Driving Course will be held at the Countryside Community Center, 9 Sheldon Guile Boulevard in Owego throughout 2000. The fee is $10 per person, payable to AARP. Call the Department of Aging Services at 687-4120 to register.


Always on Sunday Free Concert

This month's Always on Sunday Concert will be held on February 20, at the Tioga County Historical Museum on Front Street in Owego, from 2:00 to 3:00 pm. The concert will feature Hakan Tayga Hormek, cellist, and Margaret Reitz, pianist. Free tickets are available at Conti Jewelers, Awakenings, The Hand of Man, and the Tioga County Council on the Arts (TCCA) at 179 Front Street in Owego.

Bible Presentation

The last two presentations of The Bible: Word of God, Word of Life, Word of Prayer will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, on Sunday, February 13 at St. Margaret Mary Church in Apalachin, and Sunday, February 27 at St. John the Evangelist Church in Newark Valley. These presentations will enrich your understanding and appreciation of sacred Scriptures and are sponsored by St. Bernard's on the Road and the Tioga Regional Center.
