Learn About Energy Competition

Is there really competition in the electric industry? Does that mean savings for consumers? Can you save money by purchasing your electricity from someone other than your local utility? How do you decide?

If you'd like answers to those and other questions about energy, then come to a presentation to learn about energy competition on Tuesday, December 7, at Noon at the Countryside Community Center in Owego. Jeff Wagner with the New York State Public Service Commission will explain the benefits of energy competition and go through an example of shopping for electricity. He will also open the session up to any questions and issues that affect consumers.

Dinner will be served as usual from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm for anyone who would like to enjoy a meal during the presentation. The presentation is sponsored by Tioga Opportunities, Inc., Department of Aging Services. For more information, call Marge Tubbert, Department of Aging Services, at 687-4120, ext. 314.

The Countryside Community Center is at 9 Sheldon Guile Boulevard in Owego.
