Erin Keefe is Miss Penna Pre-Teen

Erin Keefe, daughter of Thomas and Michele Keefe of Warren Center, was named Miss Pennsylvania Pre-Teen First Runner Up in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, on July 30, 1999.

Erin also took first place in the speech contest and third place in the talent contest. She wrote her own skit for the talent contest and sang. She also wrote her award-winning speech about Clara Barton, founder of the American Red Cross. The dress which Erin wore in the evening wear portion of the contest was her own design and was sewn by Claudette Burke of Wyalusing.

Erin will be competing in the national competition in Florida in November. She will be competing as Miss Bradford County Pre-Teen, representing her home county as well as the state of Pennsylvania.

Erin is the granddaughter of Gerald and Lorna Vankuren, and Jerome and Leora Keefe. She attends Northeast Bradford School District. She will be entering seventh grade in September.

There will be a pancake breakfast to help raise money for Erin's trip to Florida. The breakfast will be on Saturday, September 18, 1999, from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Warren Center Methodist Church. Come meet Erin and get a great meal.
