First Annual Owego Historic

Garden Festival and Tour

Held in Conjunction with En Plein Air Art Show

The First Annual Owego Historic Garden Festival and Tour will take place on Sunday, August 1, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm in conjunction with the En Plein Air art show. The Owego Historic Preservation Commission (OHPC) has organized this festival to bring together local gardeners and to celebrate their contributions to the historic charm and beauty of the Village of Owego.

The garden festival will feature friendly competition between local gardeners for prizes. All entrants will have a chance to win raffle prizes. All gardeners from the Village of Owego are invited to enter and all types of gardens are welcome. There is no entry fee. Entry deadline is July 12, with gardens being judged before August 1. Photographs may be included with the entry if the garden is at its height during another part of the year.

The public is invited to take self-guided tours of the gardens, visiting the art exhibits of En Plein Air along the way. Local businesses are supporting this festival through contributions, prizes, and advertising.

Entry forms are available from the OHPC and from many of the shops in the Historic District of the Village of Owego. For more information, call Laura Lee Intscher at (607) 687-7643.
