< Little People, Big People

April 7, 14, 21, 28, Wednesdays

10:30-11:30 am

This pre-school nature class is open to all three- and four-year-olds and their adult chaperones. Each week, Naturalist Eileen Shatara will explore a new nature theme through hikes, games, stories, show and tell, and arts and crafts. Class size is limited, pre-registration is required. $12 members, $16 non-members for the month.

< Hatchet Explorers Group

April 9,16,23,30, Friday, 4-6pm

Open to 4-6th Graders. After reading the book Hatchet by Gary Paulsen, the group will explore natural awareness and outdoor skills through first hand experience. Books will be provided for the program. $12 members, $16 non-members. Call for reservations.

April 17 & 18, Saturday & Sunday

Take a hike and lend your support of the Waterman Conservation Center. For this event, you will collect pledges, then hike on any of the trails during the weekend. If you would like to help, but cannot hike, please send in your form to sponsor one of our staff or volunteers. All funds collected are used to improve trails.

< Eddie Bauer Adventure Wear Fashion Show

at the Owego Elks Lodge

April 18, Sunday, 4pm

Waterman Center and Eddie Bauer present the First Annual Adventure Wear Show featuring fashions for people who love the outdoors. The fashions, which have been donated by the great folks at Eddie Bauer, will include gear for biking, hiking, camping, rock climbing, and more. In addition to fashions, Waterman Center will be featuring desserts from some of the best restaurants in the area. Call for reservations.

< Summer Camp Counselors Needed

The Summer Day Camp program is open to five- to twelve-year-olds. Counselors guide the young people through their lessons in natural arts and crafts, nature study, outdoor recreation, drama and group games. The Waterman Summer Camp Staff will receive training in mid-June and the camp will begin on June 28 and run through September 3. Counselors must have current first aid and CPR certification and should have at least one year of college. For an application and job description, call the center.
