OFA Presents
"The Wizard of Oz"

The Owego Free Academy's Drama Club will present Frank Baum's "The Wizard of Oz" on March 26 and 27. The students have been busy rehearsing and building props scenery. The student director, Kathryn Botsford, and advisor Bridgett Gruzlewski have been busy setting up scenes, and keeping the "flying monkeys" in line.

"The Wizard of Oz" is the first musical by OFA's drama club since 1976. The main characters in the show are played by the club's spectacular seniors: Irene Strong as Dorothy, Cheryl Hill as Belinda (the Good Witch of the North), BriAnn Schweitzer as Glinda (the Good Witch of the South), and Kathryn Botsford as the King of the Monkeys. Other cast members include Jason Brusso as Uncle Henry, Christina Koczan As Aunt Em, Alison Heitner as the Wicked Witch, Melissa Hurlbut as the Scarecrow, Sam "I am" Robinson as the Tinman, Sarah Thomas as the Lion, and Mike Motell as Oz.

Technical director of the musical is Eric Hawkins, OFA Alumnus from 1996. Eric is in charge of the awesome visual and sound effects.

Show times are on Friday, March 26, at 7:30 pm, and Saturday, March 27, at 1:00 pm and 7:30 pm, at the Owego Middle School Auditorium. Cost is $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for Students and Senior Citizens. Children under 6 are admitted without charge. The cast of Act I of "The Wizard of Oz"
