Spring Garden Seminar

"Takin' It Outside," a spring garden seminar, will be held on Saturday, March 20, from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm at Tioga Gardens on Route 17C in Owego. The schedule for the event is as follows:

Trees of Life, 9:00 - 9:15 am. Selecting multi-use trees and shrubs for beauty and function. Speaker is Walt Nelson, horticulturalist, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chemung County, and writer for the Elmira Star Gazette

The Garden of Eden 10:30 am - 12:15 pm. Perennials for special gardens of shade, sun, wet, natural, etc. Speaker is Lee Nelson, renown horticulture consultant and lecturer

The Ten Commandments of Home Landscaping, 12:45-1:30 pm. The laws of doing it yourself. Speakers are Ed Kuhlman, co-owner of Tioga Gardens, and Tim Ripic, Director of Tioga Gardens Landscape Services.

Cost for the seminar is $12 and includes morning refreshments. To register for the seminar, contact the Tioga County Tourism Office at 687-7440.
