Melissa Lee Externs in Arizona

Melissa Jayne Lee, a graduate of Owego Free Academy, recently celebrated her move from student to extern at Indiana University of Pennsylvania's (IUP) Academy of Culinary Arts. The Acceptance of the Toque Ceremony signifies the last phase of her Academy education.

Melissa, the daughter of David and Sandra Lee of Owego, will perform her externship at The Wigwam Resort in Litchfield Park, Arizona. She graduated with high honors and was recognized for excellent attendance and was a member of the Ice Carving Club. She is certified in German wines, sanitation, nutrition, and supervisory management.

IUP's Academy of Culinary Arts located in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, received full accreditation by the American Culinary Federation Educational Institute Accrediting Commission in 1997. This is the maximum accreditation possible for new culinary programs in the United States.
