Darling Receives College Scholarships

Greg Darling of Warren Center, Pennsylvania, a junior at Campbell University in North Carolina majoring in mass communication, received a full tuition, two-year Army-ROTC scholarship, which includes book expenses and a monthly stipend. Campbell University automatically awards Presidential Scholarships to ROTC scholarship recipients, which he also received. Greg was awarded a scholarship from the Fayetteville-Observer Times through Campbell's mass communication department. He received a religion scholarship as a religion minor. The combined value of these scholarships is $30,000.

As an eight-year member of the Civil Air Patrol (CAP), Greg received his third consecutive CAP scholarship and the elite Ira C. Eaker Award. He is a member of the Broome/Tioga Composite Squadron at Tri-Cities Airport. While attending college he's participated in CAP activities at Central Composite Squadron in North Carolina. He has served as cadet commander for both squadrons for a combined total of five years.

Greg, a lifelong homeschooler, is the son of Pastor Pete and Jill Darling of Warren Center. He is a member of Faith Christian Fellowship of Apalachin, where his father is a minister. Greg will be contracted with the US Army this fall and commissioned as an officer upon graduation from Campbell University in the year 2000.
