Owego March for Jesus

For the third year, Owego will participate in a worldwide march on Saturday, May 30, designed to bring Christians outside their individual churches and unite in one accord in praising Jesus as Lord. The march will begin at 2:30 pm, on Elm Street in Owego.

The march is not a protest nor politically motivated. Anyone who loves Jesus is welcomed to attend.

The March for Jesus movement began in London, England, in 1987 through Icthus Christian Fellowship with a march of 1,500 people. The simple vision of the march caused it to be quickly spread throughout the world. The 1987 Global March for Jesus linked together one million Christians in 700 cities. While around the world, 6 million marched for Jesus in 100 nations.

Local churches are urged to bring banners exalting Jesus, and there will be easy-to-learn songs for marchers.
