Bruce Bryant's Contributions Recognized

The New York State Senate adopted a Resolution on March 3, 1998, in recognition of the late Bruce Bryant's dedication and contributions to the community. Bruce died on January 9, 1998.

In a letter to Bruce's wife Rae, State Senator Thomas W. Libous said, "It was my privilege to sponsor this resolution honoring Bruce's dedication and service as a Volunteer Firefighter and Town Justice."

Bruce Bryant spent more than 50 years with the Apalachin Fire Department, and nearly 30 years as Fire Chief. He helped organize the Apalachin Fireman's Field Days over 35 years ago.




1998 Fireman's Field Days

The Annual Apalachin Fireman's Field Days will be held Wednesday through Saturday, June 3, 4, 5, and 6 at the Apalachin Fireman's Field Grounds. Highlights of the Field Days are:

Every Night: Rides, Games, Refreshments, and Chicken BBQ

Wednesday, June 3 - Free Rides from 6-7pm and Hole-In-One Golf till dark

Thursday, June 4 - Little Miss Apalachin Contest at 7pm

Friday, June 5 - Spectacular Fireworks display at 10pm

Saturday, June 6 - Pay-One-Price Ride Specials from 1-5pm and the Traditional Fireman's Parade at 6pm



'Little Miss Apalachin' Contest
Applications Being Accepted

Applications are now being accepted for entries in the Little Miss Apalachin Contest which will be held on Thursday, June 4, at the Apalachin Firemen's Field Days. The contest is open to any girl age 8 or 9 who resides in the Apalachin fire district.

Applications can be picked up at all Apalachin Fire Stations, Apalachin Elementary School, Vestal Hills School, Apalachin Pharmacy, Big Dipper, and BEAM Electronics.
