Year 2000 Challenge Seminar

Countryside Community Center, Sheldon Guile Blvd, Owego

This seminar is a one-hour awareness briefing which provides an overview of the Year 2000 problem. The following questions will be answered:

What is the Year 2000 Challenge?

What is the scope of the Year 2000?

What are the implications of the Year 2000 for an organization?

How does an organization get ready for the Year 2000?

Why does an organization need to prepare for the Year 2000?

Where can an organization obtain assistance in preparing for the Year 2000?

What resources are available to assist an organization in preparing for the Year 2000?

What are the next steps in order to prepare for the Year 2000?

Seminar attendees will receive a self-assessment guide enabling them to determine their preparedness for the Year 2000. There is a charge of $10 for Tioga County Chamber members and $15 for non-members. Advance reservations are required.

The seminar will be presented by representatives of Concurrent Technologies Corporation of Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Tioga State Bank is seminar co-sponsor.

The presenter will be Mike Patsellis of TiogaConnected (formerly the Tioga County Communications Consortium). The session will last for two hours and everyone is welcome to come and share ideas. There is no admission charge. Advance reservations are preferred.

The discussion topic will be "Workforce Diversity and Compliance with Human Rights Laws Relating to Employment." Presenters will be John Petersen of the New York State Division of Human Rights, Sandra Johnson of New York State Electric and Gas Corporation, and John C. Fish, Esq. Of Hinman, Howard & Kattell, LLP. Jim Franz, attorney with Hinman, Howard & Kattell, will serve as moderator. There is no charge for chamber members. Advance reservations are preferred.
