Citizens Police Academy
Session III Begins This Month

The Village of Owego Police Department will be conducting Session III of the Citizens Police Academy beginning on Wednesday, April 15, from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm, and will continue each Wednesday evening through June 3.

The Owego Police Department's Citizens Police Academy program was developed to enhance the relationship between the citizens in the community and their Police Department. The goal of the program is for citizens to have a better understanding of the duties, responsibilities, and operations of the Owego Police Department.

Applications may be picked up in person at the Owego Police Department, 90 Temple Street, Owego. Participation will be limited and Village of Owego residents will be given preference. A background investigation will be done on persons applying to attend the session. The Owego Police Department reserves the right to reject any application.

In addition, the Owego Police Department will also be conducting an Advanced Session for the graduates of Sessions I and II, beginning on Thursday, April 16, from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm and will continue each Thursday evening through May 7, 1998.

Application forms must be returned to the Owego Police Department by Friday, April 10.
