Jessica Barnes of Little Meadows will be representing Wells College at this year's National Conference for Undergraduate Research (NCUR) on April 24 at Salisbury State University in Oceanside, Maryland. She will give a lecture on her thesis entitled "A Comparative Analysis of the Prison Experiences of Two Russian Women in Two Eras of Russian History." Her thesis will be published this summer.

Jessica is a senior at Wells College in Aurora, New York, with a major in Women's Studies and a minor in German Language. She is finishing her busy academic semester by co-chairing the first all women's college conference at Wells. This year, Jessica is also the chair of community court at Wells and the captain of the lacrosse team.

Jessica's graduation plans include doing research work this summer in Washington, D.C., and moving to Germany in the fall for a teaching position at a university before pursuing her PhD.
