Spaghetti Dinner to Benefit
Blooming in Tioga

A spaghetti dinner will be held to raise funds for the "Blooming in Tioga" Project on Sunday, March 15, from 11:30 am to 4:00 pm, at the Owego Elks Club Auditorium, 223 Front Street, Owego. A full plate of delicious spaghetti and meatballs, tossed salad, bread and beverage will be served. Cost is $4.00 for adults and $3.50 for children under 12. All proceeds will benefit the continued efforts of the "Blooming In Tioga" Volunteers who make Tioga County more attractive through the planting of wildflowers.

This will be the third year of wildflower plantings about Route 17. The project's goal is to have continuous wildflowers across the width of the county from the Broome County line to the Chemung County line. There are now nine plots, about three miles worth, spaced along Route 17. The plots are sponsored by area businesses, organizations, and individuals. "Blooming in Tioga" also sponsors garden contests, garden tours, spring and fall clean-up days, gardening seminars, and community theme gardens.
