Marketing Your Small Business

The "Small Business Roundtable," is designed to help grow a small business. The presenter will be Carl Simerson of Simerson Enterprises, Owego. The topic for discussion will be "Marketing Your Small Business." Everyone is welcome. There is no charge.

Chamber Elects Officers & Directors

Don Leonard has been re-elected Chairman of Directors of the Tioga County Chamber of Commerce. Serving with him are Matt Adler, First vice Chairman; Mark Welser, Second Vice Chairman; Bob Pass, Third Vice Chairman; Florence Brinkman, Secretary; and Sue Shedden, Treasurer.

Newly-elected Directors are Tom Poulton, Kathleen Horner, Kevin Dougherty, Al Johnson, James Lavo, and Barbara Needham. Continuing Directors are Lila Hall, Toni Murphy, Adam Weitsman, Nick Knorr, Joyce Cassidy, Mike Drake, and John Stevens.

Mark VanDeMark and Dale Smith, as past Board Chairmen, continue to serve on the board.

New Members

The chamber welcomes the following new members: Keystone Trozze, LLC, Binghamton, and Dale O. Knape, Wolfe Communications Systems, Owego.

Local Business Receives Chamber Award

The chamber's "Taking P.R.I.D.E. in Tioga County" Award was presented to Frank and Domenica Catalano of Mountain Top Greenhouses. The award was given for the renovation and preservation of their building which houses the Cottage Florist & Gift Shop at 129 North Avenue in Owego.

The "Taking P.R.I.D.E. in Tioga County" award is presented to Tioga County businesses and organizations which exhibit extraordinary commitment to the county. The program was developed by the chamber to promote and enhance Tioga County's business, cultural, recreational, economic, and environmental advantages.

Human Resource Roundtable to Meet

January 15, Thursday, 8-9:30am

Tioga County Boys & Girls Club,

Erie Street, Owego

The topic for discussion will be "Pensions and Employee Benefits." Presenters will be Thomas A. Conlon, Esq. of Hinman, Howard & Kattell, LLP; Robert M. Sedor, Jr. of the Bay Ridge Group and Philip F. Wiles of The Partners Insurance and Financial Services.

The roundtable is open to supervisors, owners, personnel managers, and staff of any business or organization in the Tioga County Chamber of Commerce. There is no charge for chamber members.

The Human Resources Roundtable is geared toward business persons with varying levels of personnel management training and experience.
