Apalachin Firefighters Complete Course

Three members of the Apalachin Fire Department attended and successfully completed a Scott Breathing Apparatus Maintenance course conducted by the Department of State, Office of Fire Prevention and Control, at the New York State Academy of Fire Science. The members are William Walker, Lieutenant Firefighter, Scott Sanguinito, Firefighter; and Jason D. Allen, Firefighter Interior.

The purpose of the course is to improve the capability of local fire service personnel to do field level maintenance on the Scott Air-Pak breathing apparatus. Also included is information on refilling cascade systems, recharging air cylinders, air purity and testing breathing air compressor systems.
